It is given that, difference of numbers is 66 :-

→ x - y = 66

→ x = 66 + y -i

Also, ratio of numbers is 2 : 5.

→ y : x = 2 : 5

→ y / x = 2 / 5

Substituting the value of x from equation i in equation ii :-

→ 5y = 2 ( 66 + y )

→ 5y = 132 + 2y

→ 5y - 2y = 132

→ 3y = 132

→ y = 132 / 3

→ y = 44

→ x = y + 66

→ x = 44 + 66

→ x = 110
