Given data :

length of the floor = 18 m ,

width of the floor = 12 m and

cost of flooring per tile = Rs. 80

Lets find the areas :

Then, area of the floor

= length × width

= 18 × 12 m²

= 216 m²

and the area of each square tile

= 12 × 12 cm²

= 144 cm²

= (\large\sf{\frac{144 }{ 10000}}) m²

Step 3. Finding number of square tiles :

∴ required number of square tiles to pave the floor

 \sf{ :   \implies \frac{area \:  of \:  the  \: floor }{ area \:  of \:  each  \: tile}}

\tt{:   \implies  ( \frac{\frac{216}{ 144 }}{ 10000})}

 \tt{:   \implies \frac{ (216 × 10000)} {144}}

  :   \implies \tt 15000

Now lets find the cost of flooring :

∴ the cost of flooring at the rate of Rs. 80 per tile

= Rs. (15000 × 80)

= Rs. 1200000
