the parabola given is

 {y}^{2}  - 4y + 4 = x + 1 \\  {(y - 2)}^{2}  = x + 1

let Y = y-2

and, X=x+1

therefore,

(Y)^2 = (4/4)X

here, a = 1/4

co-ordinates of focus can be found out by putting

X=a = 1/4

Y=0

so, coordinates comes out to be

( \frac{ - 3}{4}  \:  . \: 2)
