GIVEN,

HCF of two numbers is 3

LCM of two numbers is 1

The first number is 9

TO FIND,

Second number

SOLUTION,

We know that the HCF of the two numbers is 3 and the LCM of the two numbers is 9. Also, we know that the multiplication of HCF and LCM is equal to the product of the two numbers. Hence,

HCF * LCM = A * B

Where HCF (Highest common factor)

          LCM(Least common multiple)

3 *1 = 9 * B

3 = 9 * B

3/9 = B

1/3 =B

Hence if the HCF of two numbers is 3 and their LCM is 1. If one number is 9,  the other number is 1/3.
