breadth is 3 cm  then length is 15 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a rectangle  =  42 cm

length is 3 cm less than  three times of its breadth

let breadth = l cm

so length = 3 l-3 cm

The perimeter of a rectangle  = 2( l+ B)

or  2( 3 l-3 + i ) = 42

or 2( 4 l - 3) = 42

or 4 l- 3 = 21

4l = 24

l= 6 cm

if breadth is 3 cm  then length = 3*6-3 = 15 cm
