  1. A drawer is pulled or pushed to open it .Rope is pulled or pushed to draw water from a well.
  2. Squeezing of a plastic bottle changes the shape of the bottle. Deformation of clay by pressing it between the hands.
  3. Force is a push or a pull that changes or tends to change the state of rest or uniform motion of an object or changes the direction or shape of an object. It causes objects to accelerate. SI unit is Newton (N)
  4. Contact force occurs due to the contact between two different objects. Non-contact force occurs due to either attraction or repulsion between two objects such that there is no contact between these objects. The frictional force is an example of a contact force. Gravitational force is an example of a non-contact force.
  5. Non - contact forces : magnetic force, gravitational force, electrostatic... Contact forces : friction, muscular force.
  6. Atmospheric pressure is the air pressure which is exerted by the weight of air present in the atmosphere. Atmospheric pressure also acts in all directions. On the surface of earth, the atmospheric pressure is maximum at the sea level.
