\bigstar GIVEN

a=21,

b=18

\implies 21 - (-18 ) = 21 + 18

\boxed{( - )( - ) = ( + )}

\implies 21 + 18 = 21 + 18

\therefore 39 = 39

Question:-

Verify a-(-b)=a+b for the following valuespecially of a and b.

(i) a=21,b=18

Solution:-

value of a and b is given

a = 21 and b = 18

now,

=> L.H.S = a - ( - b )

=> L.H.S = 21 - (- 18 )

=> L.H.S = 21 + 18

=> L.H.S = 39 ....... ( 1 )

=> R.H.S = a + b

=> R.H.S = 21 + 18

=> R.H.S = 39 ....... ( 2 )

From ( 1 ) & ( 2 )

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence a - (- b ) = a + b is Verified

Note:- sign ( - ) ( - ) = sign ( + )

i hope it helps you.
