* carbohydrate is broken down into glucose by amelase and maltose .

*proteins are broken down into amino acid by pepsin in stomach .

b. saliva is a fluid which is secreted by salivary glands located under tounge

role in digestion of food:-

i) it helps in breaking of food into simple sugar in mouth with the help of salivary amylase

ii)it makes the food soft so that it can pass through the oesophagus easily

two excretory products other yhan CO2 and O2 in plants are:-

i) raisen or gum

ii)water during photosynthesis as transpiration
