The constitution states that there can be no longer than 6 months between the last session of the dissolved Lok Sabha and the recalling of the new House, so elections have to be concluded before then.

The maximum permitted time interval between last session of dissolved Lok Sabha and recalling of Lok Sabha is 6 months.

Lok Sabha:

  • The general public of the nation directly elect the representatives of the Lok Sabha and it  is known as the Lower house of the Parliament.
  • The total duration of time of the Lok Sabha is 5 years.
  • Sometimes the Lok Sabha get dissolved before its tenure.
  • Lok Sabha can be dissolved before the completion time only if President on the recommendation of council of ministers ordered to do that.
