• Reptiles are tetrapod animals which include turtles, crocodiles, snakes, lizards, etc.

• These are air-breathing vertebrates that are covered in special skin and made up of scales, bony plates, or a combination of both.

• Turtles generally referred to as coldblooded animals which means that their internal temperature changes according to the environment.

• Turtles live in the sea or in seawater. They are classified as amniotes along with other reptiles.

• Turtles do not lay eggs underwater. The study of turtles is called "Cheloniology".
