Answer:       x= 2/3

Sollution:

To solve for x, you have to isolate x by itself on either the left or right side of the equal sign. To keep the equation true or balanced, anything you do on the left side of the equal sign, you must do on the right side, and vice versa. So, how do you eliminate the -1 that’s on the left side? You add +1 to both sides.

8x -1 +1 = 2x + 3 +1

8x = 2x +4

To remove the 2x from the right side of the equation, you subtract it from both sides.

8x -2x = 2x +4 -2x

6x = 4

Now, to get x by itself, you need to divide both sides by 6.

6x ÷ 6 = 4 ÷ 6

x= 4/6

x= 2/3
