8x + y = 13 \\ 4x + 2y = 13 \\  \\ 16x + 2y = 26 \\ 4x + 2y = 13 \\  \\  12x = 13 \\ x =  \frac{13}{12}

putting the value of x in eq.(2)

4 \times \frac{13}{12}  + y = 13    \\   \frac{13}{3}  + y = 13 \\ y = 13 -  \frac{13}{3}  \\ y =  \frac{39 - 13}{3}  \\ y =  \frac{26}{3}
