80 girls and boys have planned for a movie. They are in in ratio of of 6 girls to 2 boys. How many girls are there?

given ratio=girls:boys=6:2

let total no.of girls be 6x

total no.of boys be 2x

sum of both boys and girls=80

therefore, 6x+2x=80

8x=80

x=80÷8

x=10

so,boys=2x=2×10=20

girls=6x=6×10=60

boys+girls=20+60=80
