Given:-

→Amount of fuel burnt=80kg

→Amount of heat energy produced on burning=240000kJ

To find:-

→Calorific value of the fuel

Solution:-

We know that,calorific value can be calculated by:-

=>Amount of heat energy/Amount of fuel burnt

=>240000kJ/80kg

=>3000kJ/kg

Thus,calorific value of the fuel is 3000kJ/kg.

Some Extra Information:-

Calorific value:-It refers to the heat produced by unit volume of a substance by complete combustion.

The efficiency of a fuel or food mainly depends on it's calorific value. If calorific value of a fuel is high,it's efficiency will be also high.

S.I unit:- The S.I unit of calorific value is kJ/kg.

The Calorific values(approximate) of some common fuels are:-

•Petrol-45000kJ/kg

•Diesel-45000kJ/kg

•Coal-33000kJ/kg

•LPG-55000kJ/kg

•Cow dung cake -8000kJ/kg
