Are We A Truly Socialist Nation

India was declared as a socialist republic nation with the implementation of our own constitution in the year 1950. Now, after the journey of sixty-seven years, are we truly a socialist republic? The question still remains definitely answered. Though rules are in place, laws have been passed and strict compliance is expected, India still struggles with discrimination which has resulted in many complications in structure and administration of our nation.

Discrimination, like a tumor, has affected our nation negatively and with the passage of time, will continue to create a divide among people. With the centralization of wealth among the twenty percent of the population, there is a wide rift between the two groups of people. Rich are becoming richer and poor poorer. It not only causes ill-will and frustration among the have-nots but it also gives rise to malpractices like embezzlement, robbery and the like.

If India needs to stand as a powerful nation, she needs to get rid of cancerous discrimination due to which our country is losing its glory
