80% passed in English,85% passed in mathematics and 75% in both English and mathematics. If 40% students fail in both the subject,find the number of students.

Passed students in both subjects = 80% + 85% - 75% = 90%

Failed students in both subjects = 100 - 90 = 10%

10% = 40   (i hope there is no % with 40. if you mean it 45 then put 45 in the palce of 40)

so total student ( 10% x 10= 100%) = 40 x 10 = 400

Ans: - 400 students
