8000 kg engine pulls A train of 5 wagons each of 2000 kg along a horizontal track if the engine exerts a
of force of 40000 Newton on the track of a frictional force of 5000 Newton can calculate the acceleration of the train.

Net force exerted =40000−5000N=35000N

Total weight =8000+(5×2000)=18000kg

∴   Acceleration =1800035000=1.944ms−2

Hence, Net accelerating force =35000N & acceleration =1.944ms−2.
