We know that alcohols are soluble in water in all proportions and also they are made of hydroxyl ions[OH-] . So, it is easy for alcohol to mix with water by breaking the [OH-] ions into [H+] ions. But if we keep on increasing the molecular mass of alcohol then the hydrocarbon chain increases and thereby decreasing the solubility of alcohol.
