1) Jones is an allegory for Czar Nicholas. Jones is overthrown by the animals of his farm, who represent Bolshevik and liberal revolutionaries.

2) Scence of action is If Mr. Jones had been paying attention, the animals would never have had the opportunity to come together to talk about starting a revolution. But in his drunkenness, Mr. Jones fails to secure the animals, giving Old Major, a respected pig, a chance to stir things up. Old Major reminds the animals of how hard they have had to work for Mr. Jones, with very little compensation. Their children are taken away from them at a young age, and eventually, each one of them will be slaughtered when they are no longer useful. When the sound of the animals wakes up Mr. Jones, he fires a shot into the barn which breaks up the meeting.
