kvnmurty: how did you get to know that you have to split -2 a^2 b into -12 a^2 b and +10 a^2 b ?? is there a method you used. Please mention that.
kvnmurty: you have to take "a" out as a factor from the first factor... there are three factors not two.
suraniparvin: Whenever it is a trinomial we used splitting method that is factorising method

Hello,
8a³-2a²b-15ab²
we can write it as:
8a³-2a²b-3·5ab²
We collect to common factor:
a(8a²-2ab-3·5b²)
yet:
a(2a-3b)(4a+5b)

bye alessre :-)

kvnmurty: please show the middle term splitting process. That is very important. how to get the last step from the earlier step... Without explanation user is lost.
kvnmurty: pls explain that step.
kvnmurty: answer is very correct.
alessre: 8x(-15) : memiliki faktor-faktor 10 dan - 12, yang apabila dijumlahkan harus tepat sama dengan koefisien suku tengah xy yaitu 10 + (- 2) = - 2
alessre: then: 8a² - 12ab + 10ab - 15b²
= 4a(2a - 3b) + 5b (2a - 3b)
= (4a + 5b) (2a - 3b)
suraniparvin: Always multiply 1st n the last nos that means u get 120 n keep in mind middle term which is 2 ::now u hve to take two nos su h that when u multipy u should get 120 n when u add or subtract u should get 2
