By solving the equation  \bold{\frac{8 p-5}{7 p+1}=-\frac{2}{4}} , value of p is  \bold{\frac{9}{23}}

Solution:

To find the solution of the equation first cross multiply the equation

\frac{8 p-5}{7 p+1}=-\frac{2}{4}

By cross multiplication we get

4(8p-5) = -2 (7p+1)

Multiplying the equation with 4 and -2, we get:

32p - 20= -14p - 2

Now putting the p sides in one place and numbers in another, we get:

32p + 14p = 20-2

46p = 18

By simplifying the value of p is

 \bold{p=\frac{18}{46}=\frac{9}{23}}

Answer:

4(8p-5)=-2(7p+1)

32p-20=14p-2

32p-14p=-2+20

46p=18

p=18/46

p=9/23
