Hi there !

This is a question of direct and inverse proportions.

Follow this method

TAPS. 8. 6

Time(in min). 27 y2

Let x be the taps required

y be the time in minutes

It can be noticed that as the number of pipes required increase, the time taken to fill the tank decrease and vice versa

So,
x is inversely proportional to y

x1y1 = x2y2

8 \times 27 = 6 \times y2

 \frac{8 \times 27}{6} = y2
y2 = 36

So,

36 minutes will be required
