Solutions :

The two terms are

  • 1st term = 8x - 4y - 3
  • 2nd term = 9x + 6y + 7

>> Required subtraction is

= 1st term - 2nd term

= (8x - 4y - 3) - (9x + 6y + 7)

= 8x - 4y - 3 - 9x - 6y - 7

= 8x - 9x - 4y - 6y - 3 - 7

= (8 - 9)x - (4 + 6)y - (3 + 7)

= - x - 10y - 10

>> Required subtraction is

= 2nd term - 1st term

= (9x + 6y + 7) - (8x - 4y - 3)

= 9x + 6y + 7 - 8x + 4y + 3

= 9x - 8x + 6y + 4y + 7 + 3

= (9 - 8)x + (6 + 4)y + (7 + 3)

= x + 10y + 10
