Step-by-step explanation:

8x + 5y = 9

(multiplying by 2....)

16x + 10y = 18 ----------(1)

3x + 2y = 4

( multiplying by 5....)

15x + 10y = 20 ------------(2)

from equation (1) and (2)....

by subtracting equation (2) by (1)....

16x-15x + 10y - 10y = 18-20

x= -2

we know.....

3x + 2y = 4

3(-2)+2y = 4

-6+2y= 4

2y= 10

y= 5

hope it helps.......
