8x + 5y = 9

3x + 2y = 4

By REDUCTION METHOD

We multiply (8x + 5y  = 9) by 2

And (3x + 2y = 4) by -5

So we get ,

(16x + 10y = 18) + (-15x - 10y  = - 20 )

= x = -2

Now putting the value of x in 3x + 2y = 4 we get -

3 (-2) + 2y = 4

-6 + 2y =4

2y = 4 + 6

2y = 10

y = 5

So , we get our answer x =  -2 and y = 5 ...............
