8x - 7 x = 11 and 7x - 8y = 4 What is the value of x + y ?

8x-7x =11

1x=11

x=11............(1)

puttingthe value of x in 7x-8y=4

we get 7X11-8y=4

77-8y=4

-8y =4-77

8y=4+77

y=81/8

y=10.1
