neutralised by 80 mL of given solution of hydrochloric acid to form aqueous

Since NaOH is a monoprotic basic then 0.5 N NaOH = 0.5 M NaOH or 0.5 mole/L = 0.5 x 40 g NaOH/L or 20 g in 1 L of solution. Thus, the amount of NaOH present in 200 mL is 200/1000 mL x 20 g = 4 g.
