9.4 g of magnesium carbonate on heating give 4.4 g of carbon dioxide and 5.0 g magnesium oxide. Show that these observations are in agreement with the law of conversation of mass

Law of conservation of mass states that the total sum of reactants is equal to the total sum of products.

here ,

reactants is Magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) of mass 9.4g

products are Carbon dioxide ( CO2) of mass 4.4 g and Magnesium oxide (MgO) of mass 5 g .

if we apply law of conservation of mass,

9.4 = 4.4 + 5

9.4 = 9.4

RHS = LHS

Hence proved .
