9. A bag contains 6 red, 3 black and 6white balls. A ball is selected at random from the bag. Find the probability
that the selected ball is

total no of balls in the bag=5+3=8

1)no of red balls=3

therefore probability of getting red balls=no of reds ball in bag/total no of balls in bag

3/8

2)not red=p(E)+p(not Event)=1

probability (getting red ball)+p(not getting red ball)=1

3/8+p(E)=1

=p(not Event)=1/1-3/8 (here cross multiplication)

8-3/8=5/8
