  • Sheet of metal required = 440 cm²

Given :–

  • Radius of a closed cylindrical tank = 7m.
  • Height of a closed cylindrical tank = 3m.

To Find :–

  • Sheet of metal required.

Solution :–

We know that,

Area of metal sheet = Total surface area of a cylinder. [Area of a closed cylindrical tank]

T.S.A.(Total Surface Area) of a cylinder = 2πr(r + h)

Area of closed cylinder = 2πr(r + h)

We have,

  • Value of π =  \sf \dfrac{22}{7}
  • Radius (r) = 7m.
  • Height (h) = 3m.

Now, substitute the values in the formula of the area of closed cylinder.

\longrightarrow2 \times  \dfrac{22}{ \cancel7 }  \times  \cancel7 \: cm(7 \: cm + 3 \: cm)

\longrightarrow2 \times 22 \times (10 ) \:  {cm}^{2}

\longrightarrow44 \times 10 \:  {cm}^{2}

 \longrightarrow 440 \:  {cm}^{2}

Hence,

440 cm² sheet of metal required.
