Given :-

  • A copper wire in the form of a circle, encloses an area of 616 cm². If the same wire is bent to form a square

To find :-

  • Area of square

Solution :-

Area of copper wire = Area of circle = 616cm²

→ πr² = 616

→ 22/7 × r² = 616

→ 22 × r² = 616 × 7

→ r² = 616 × 7/22

→ r² = 28 × 7

→ r² = 196

→ r = √196 = 14cm

Hence radius of circle is 14cm

Perimeter of copper wire = Circumference of circle

2πr

→ 2 × 22/7 × 14

→ 2 × 22 × 2

→ 88 cm

Perimeter of copper wire = Perimeter of square

→ 88 = 4 × side

→ Side = 88/4 = 22cm

Hence, side of square is 22cm

Area of square

→ side × side

→ 22 × 22

→ 484 cm²

Hence,

  • Area of square is 484 cn²
