of tiles required. Further, if a carpet is laid on the floor so that a space of 1 m exists between its edges
and the edges of the floor, what fraction of the floor is uncovered?
10. A book contains 360 pages which measure 20 cm by 14 cm. Every page has a blank margin 2.5 cm
deep along each short side and 2 cm deep each long side. Find the total area available for printing.
11. A garden is 24 m long and 14 m wide. There is a path 1 m wide outside the garden along its sides.
If the path is to be constructed with square marble tiles 20 cm x 20 cm, find the number of tiles
required to cover the path.​
