9. A race track is in the form of a ring whose inner circumference is 528 m and the outer
circumference is 616 m. Find the width of the track.

We know:

Now,

Let 'r' be inner radius & 'R' be outer radius.

➲Outer Circumference  =616m

=> 2πr = 616  

=> πr = 308

=> r = 308 × 7/22

=> 14 × 7 = 98

=> r=98m

➲ Inner Circumference = 528m.

=> 2πR = 528

=> πR = 264

=> R = 264 × 7/22

=> 12 × 7 = 84

=> R=84m.

Width of track:-

\\

➲The width = Outer radius - inner radius

=> (R – r) = (98 – 84) = 14m

Therefore,the width of track is 14m.
