Given Dimension of metal plate = 32cm by 12cm.

area of metal plate=32×12

area=384cm^2

Given length of square side =4cm.

area of 1 square cut = 16cm^2

Total no of squares made = 16/384

=24

Answer:

Concept

Whenever any solid figure is cut into different pieces then area never changes. So in this Question area of rectangular metal plate will remain same even after cutting into small squares.

  • Length of metal plate = 24 cm
  • Breadth of metal plate = 16 cm
  • Side of small square = 4 cm

According to the Question :

⇒ Rectangular Plate Area = Small Square Area × Number

⇒ L × B = (Side)² × Number

⇒ 24 cm × 16 cm = (4 cm)² × Number

⇒ 24 cm × 16 cm = 16 cm² × Number

  • Dividing both sides by 16 cm²

Number = 24

24 small squares can be cut from plate.
