Answer: 300 Rs

Step-by-step explanation:

cost price of watch = x      (assume)

sold for 10% loss = 0.9x    (x - 10% of x = x -0.1x = 0.9x)

with 8% profit  = 1.08x      ( x + 8% of x = x + 0.08x = 1.08x)

so, 0.9x +54 = 1.08x

    54 = 1.08x - 0.9x

    54 = 0.18x

     x = 54/0.18

     x = 300 Rs
