Answer:

The electrical resistivity of a material is also known as its specific electrical resistance. it is a measure of how strongly a material opposes the flow of electric current .

Answer:

For it's definition, first let me tell you a formula from which we define it.

R=\rho{l\over A}\\\\~~~~~~~where,\\~~~~~~~~~~R=Resistance\\~~~~~~~~~~\rho=Resistivity\\~~~~~~~~~~l=Length\\~~~~~~~~~~A=Cross-section~area

Hence,

\rho=R{A\over l}

In this formula, If l and A are replaced by 1 metre and 1 m² (Unit length and Unit Volume) respectively, \rho=R

Hence, Resistivity (\rho) of a material is defined as Resistance (R) of that material which has dimensions of 1 metre length and 1 m² area. (i.e., a cube with side 1 metre)
