i) An object is at rest. Means position of object is fixed. Fixed position means position is not changing with time.
Let represent position on vertical axis and time on horizontal axis. Since position is not changing with time. The only dot shows that object is at rest at that point. The graph is shown in figure (i).
ii) An object is moving with the uniform velocity along positive x- axis. It means position is changing with time. Since velocity is uniform means object travels equal distance in equal interval of time. This results in the straight line graph for the position- time. The graph in shown in figure (ii).
iii) An object moving with uniform velocity along negative x-axis. It means equal distance in negative direction is traveled by the object in equal interval of time. The graph is again the straight line but in opposite sense shown in figure (iii)
