Now that I know what the figure actually look like, I can help you with the answer :D

Alright, so the rectangle on top has a breadth of 1 and a length of 5

So Area = l*b = 5*1 = 5cm²

The rectangle on the bottom has a width of 4 and a length of 1

So Area = l*b = 4*1 = 4cm²

So the total Area of the figure is the sum of the area of the two rectangles

= 4cm² + 5cm²

= 9cm²
