Given :-

  • Length = 60 cm
  • Diagonal = 61 cm

To Find :-

  • Breadth = ?
  • Perimeter of the rectangle = ?

Solution :-

Let ΔPQRS be the given triangle such that PQ = RS = 60 cm and PR = 61 cm.

Refer to the attachment given ⇫

In ΔPQR,

➞  (PR)² = (PQ)² + (QR)²

➞  (61)² = (60)² + (QR)²

➞  QR² = 3721 – 3600

➞  QR² = 121

➞  QR = 11

Hence, Breadth = 11 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle :-

➪  2(l + b)

➪  2(60 + 11)

➪  2 × 71

➪  142

∴  Perimeter of the rectangle = 142 cm.
