Given Quadratic Polynomial → 2x² - 5x + 3

For factorizing this polynomial find 2 numbers such that:

  • Their product is 6
  • Their sum is -5

The 2 numbers which satisfy the above criteria are: -3 and -2

2x² - 5x + 3 = 0

⇒ 2x² - 3x - 2x + 3 = 0

⇒ x (2x - 3) - 1 (2x - 3) = 0

⇒ (x - 1) (2x - 3) = 0

If (x - 1) = 0

x = 1

If (2x + 3) = 0

⇒ 2x = -3

x = -3/2

∴ The of the given Quadratic Equation are 1 and -3/2
