Answer:

Given :-

  • Five square flower beds of side 1 m
  • Length of land = 5 m
  • Width of land = 4 m

To Find :-

Area of remaining part of land

Knowledge required

  • Area of square = side² units
  • Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
  • Remaining Area = Area of rectangle - Area of square

Solution :-

Area of 5 square flower = 5 × (side²)

Area of 5 square flower = 5 × (1²)

Area of 5 square flower = 5 × 1

Area of 5 square flower = 5 m²

Now,

Area of land = 5 × 4

Area of land = 20 m²

Remaining Area = Area of rectangle - Area of square

Remaining Area = 20 - 5

Remaining Area = 15 m²

Answer:-

The area of the remaining part of the land is 15

Explanation:-

Given:-

  • Five square flower beds each of sides 1 m

  • Length of piece of the land is 5 m

  • Breadth of piece of the land is 4 m

To find:-

What is the area of the remaining part of the land??

Solution:-

Length of the land is 5 m and

Breadth of the land is 4 m

We know that,

{\underline{\boxed{\sf{Area\:of\:rectangle=Length×Breadth}}}}

.°. Area of piece of the land = (5 × 4) m² = 20 m²

Measure of square flower bed is 1 m

We also know that

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{\underline{\boxed{\sf{Area\:of\:square=(side)^{2}}}}}

.°. Area of the flower bed = 1 × 1 m² = 1 m²

.°. Area of 5 flower beds = 5 × 1 m² = 5 m²

Now,

Area of the remaining part = Area of piece of the land – Area of flower beds

\sf{:\implies Area\:of\:the\:remaining\:part=(20-5)\:m^{2}}

⠀⠀

\sf{:\implies Area\:of\:the\:remaining\:part=15\:m^{2}}

The area of the remaining part of the lland is 15 m²
