Answer:

The flower is a modified shoot because flower has nodes and internodes similar to the vegetative shoot. But the internode is condensed and the numbers of appendages arising from the nodes are numerous. Flowers are meant for the reproduction of the plant. The stalk of the flower is called as pedicel and the swollen part is called as the thalamus. It is comprised of four whorls, which are arranged on the thalamus, they are calyx. The outermost whorl composed of composed of sepals. Corolla is second whorl consisting of consisting of petals. Androecium, the third whorl composed of composed of stamens. Gynoecium, the innermost whorl made up of made up of carpels'. Calyx and corolla are called as accessory whorls, in some plants, they are not differentiated from one another and they are termed as perianth. Each part of perianth is called as tepal. Androecium and gynoecium are called as essential whorls.

Hope it helps.
