Brief Understanding :-
AP is simply defined as the sequence of numbers in which each term obtained by adding a fixed number to the preceeding term for getting successive term
In an AP,
a is used to denote the first term of an AP
d is used to denote common difference
n is the number of terms of an AP
an is used to denote the total numbers of an AP
Solution :-
Here,
tn = 24
n = 12
d = 2
By using tn formula
tn = a + ( n - 1 )d
Subsitute the required values,
24 = a + ( 12 - 1 )2
24 = a + 11 * 2
24 = a + 22
a = 24 - 22
a = 2
Hence, The value of a that is the first term of an AP is 2
Option A is your answer mate.
