POVERTY- An Age-Old Problem
If there is a problem that has existed since the olden times, then it is poverty. Poverty has always topped the problems of any country. Poverty is the scarcity of some/any resources to fulfill basic needs. However, the trends in poverty have declined in recent years but still exist as a big problem. Orissa has always been in a poor state. It is a minimal decrease in the reduction of poverty. In poor states like Orissa and Bihar, poverty has declined to about 20%. In States like Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat, there is an enormous amount of reduction in poverty from the year1773-1774 to 1999-2000. We should take lessons from such states and try to eliminate the problem of poverty.
