d = 5

(4 , p) = (x1 , y1)

(1 , 0) = (x2 , y2)

d  =  \sqrt{( {x2 - x1)}^{2}  +  {(y2 - y1)}^{2} }  \\  \\ 5 =  \sqrt{ {(1 - 4)}^{2}  +  {(0 - p)}^{2} }  \\  \\ 5 =  \sqrt{ {( - 3)}^{2} +  {0}^{2}  +  {p}^{2}   - 2 \times 0 \times \: p } \\  \\ 5 =  \sqrt{9 +  {p}^{2} }  \\  \\ 5 = 3 + p \\ p = 5 - 3 \\ p = 2
