or,

  Volume of solute = Volume of solution - Volume of solvent

                                 = 400ml - 300ml

                                 = 100ml

So, Volume of solute is 100ml.

It is given, Volume of solute = 100ml

                Volume of solution = 400ml

                  Volume of solvent = 300ml

so, percentage of solute will be,

    Percentage of solute = $\frac{100}{400} \times 100$

Alternatively,

   Percentage of solvent = $\frac{Volume of solvent}{Volume of solution} \times 100$

                                         = $\frac{300}{400} \times 100$

                                         = 75%
