and y = -1/2
then show that (x×x×x×x-y×y×y)= (x – y) = (x×x+x×y +y×y).

x = 1/3

y = -1/2

to prove: x⁴- y³ = x - y

solution:

x⁴ - y³

= (1/3)⁴- (-1/2)³

= (1/81) - (-1/8)

= (1/81) + (1/8)

= 5/6

x - y

= 1/3 - (-1/2)

= 5/6
