9. In the figure, the larger angle is 50º more than the smaller angle.

a) sum of both the angles- 180° , since it's a linear pair.

b) measure of each angle-

let the smaller angle (RSQ) be x.

and let the larger angle (RSP) be y.

so according to question-

angle x +50° = angle y

therefore x +50° = y ----(1)

also, x + y = 108° ----(2)

from (1) -

x = y-50°

(putting this value in eq. 2) :-

(y -50°) + y = 180°

=> 2y = 180°-50°

=> 2y = 130°

=> y = 65°

now x = y - 50°

=> x = 65°-50°

=> x = 15°
