In the given figure, if PR > PQ and PS is the
bisector of ZP, then show that x > y.

Answer:

since,PR is greater than PQ

thus in triangle PQR

angle Q is greater than angle R----------------(i)

and we know that angle QPS= angle SPR(PS bisects angle P)--‐----------------(ii)

thus in triangle PQS,

y= 180-(Q+ Angle QPS)

in triangle PSR,

x= 180-(R+ angle SPR)

so from (i) and (ii) we get

x is greater than y
