GIVEN

The cube have edge of 10cm

TO FIND

If two such cubes placed joint to joint then find its total surface area.

SOLUTION

After joining both the cubes their side will be as follows :-

Height = 10cm

Breadth = 10cm

Length = 20cm

Hence it Be a Cuboid :-

Lateral Surface Area of a cuboid is

= 2h(L + B)

= 2 * 10 (20 + 10)

= 20 ( 30 )

=20 * 30

= 600cmsq.

Total surface Area =

2(LB + BH + HL)

= 2[(20 × 10) + (10 × 10) + (20 × 10)]

= 2(200 + 100 + 200)

= 2(500)

= 1000cmsq.

Hence the Total surface Area is 1000cmsq. and Lateral surface area is 600cmsq. (ANS)
